Jammu, Oct 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Jammu of Jammu and Kashmir Crime branch said on Thursday that it has filed a charge sheet against two accused in the multi-lakh job scam.
A statement said that the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Jammu Crime Branch has filed a charge sheet before the Court of Jammu Sub Judge against Peerzada Abdul Hamid, a resident of Damhal in Anantnag; and Muneer Hussain, a resident of Sangyote in Poonch in a case filed under Sections 420 and 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code registered in a Police Station of Jammu Crime Branch for their alleged involvement in a fraudulent job syndicate.
The case was registered on the directions of the court following a complaint by Muneer Hussain against Peerzada Abdul Hamid alleging job fraud.
The investigation led by Inspector Meenu Sharma revealed that Muneer Hussain, who initially posed as the complainant allegedly worked in collusion with Peerzada Abdul Hamid to lure victims, collect money and later file a false complaint to evade liability.
Both the accused conspired to defraud unemployed youths of around Rs 25 lakh by promising government jobs.
Witness statements and documentary evidence established their alleged involvement, following which the charge sheet was submitted before the Court of Sub Judge Jammu against Peerzada Abdul Hamid and Muneer Hussain for judicial proceedings.
EOW Jammu Crime Branch Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Faisal Qureshi, advises general public to remain vigilant against such economic frauds and report any such incident to EOW Jammu Crime Branch.
Victims of economic frauds may also submit their complaints via email at sspcrimejmu@jkpolice.gov.in or contact on telephone number - 0191-2578901.
The economic offences wing of Jammu and Kashmir Crime Branch investigates high profile economic offences and special crimes which require technological backup and a full-time dedicated team of investigators.
Territorial police dealing with maintenance of law and order and fighting terrorism to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir does not have full-time dedicated teams of investigators to deal with such crimes.
