Chaar Yaar: Purav Jha, Naman Jain and Sikandar Kher Promote Prime Video's Crime Drama Ahead of October 23 Premiere

Four friends, one desperate decision and a city where every wrong turn could come at a dangerous price! The cast of Chaar Yaar is stepping up promotions ahead of the series’ premiere on Prime Video, with Purav Jha, Naman Jain, Sikandar Kher, Saqib Ayub and other cast members spotted building excitement around the upcoming crime drama. Scheduled to premiere on October 23, 2026, the eight-episode series promises a mix of crime, dark comedy, action and emotional conflict, set against the unpredictable streets of early-2000s Mumbai.

At the heart of Chaar Yaar is the story of four ordinary, middle-class friends: Jay, Tony, Saahil and Sameer. Each has ambitions of escaping financial hardship and building a better future, but their circumstances push them towards a risky decision that changes everything. Their involvement in luxury car theft opens the door to a world far removed from their everyday lives. What begins as a possible shortcut to success soon becomes a dangerous game, with the friends caught between ruthless underworld figures and determined police officers.

The series explores what happens when ambition collides with desperation. For the four friends, money represents more than material comfort; it offers the possibility of easing family pressures and leaving their struggles behind. However, their choices bring consequences they may not be prepared to handle. As danger closes in, their friendship and loyalty face their toughest test. The combination of crime and dark humour gives the story room to explore both the absurdity of their predicament and the serious risks of the world they enter.

Purav Jha leads the series as Jay, marking an important step in the digital content creator’s acting journey. He is joined by Naman Jain as Tony, Saqib Ayub as Saahil and Prayrak Mehta as Sameer. Together, the four actors form the central group whose relationships drive the narrative. Their characters are not introduced as seasoned criminals but as ordinary young men whose circumstances lead them into increasingly complicated situations. This contrast between their everyday beginnings and their dangerous new reality forms a key part of the series’ appeal.

The supporting cast adds considerable experience to the ensemble. Sikandar Kher, Sai Tamhankar, Chunky Panday, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Tailang, Pankaj Jha and Manav Gohil are among the actors appearing in the series. Their presence brings together performers from different corners of Indian cinema and television, creating a cast suited to a story populated by friends, gangsters and law-enforcement figures. With several characters operating in the same dangerous world, the narrative has plenty of room for shifting alliances and unexpected confrontations.

Directed by Vinay Waikul, Chaar Yaar is developed by BBC Studios India. Its writing and creation team includes Sambit Mishra, Saurabh Sawant and crime writer S. Hussain Zaidi, whose association adds further interest to the project’s crime-driven premise. The early-2000s setting also provides a distinct backdrop for the story, placing the characters in a Mumbai shaped by ambition, changing aspirations and an unforgiving underworld.

As the cast promotes the series, Chaar Yaar is positioning itself as a crime drama that places friendship at the centre of its action. The big question is whether Jay, Tony, Saahil and Sameer can hold on to their bond once their pursuit of a better life begins to unravel. The eight-episode series premieres on Prime Video on October 23, 2026.
