Alia Bhatt Turns Heads in a Traditional Bengali Saree at Durga Puja Pandal, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Kabira’ Moment Wins Hearts

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt brought festive glamour to the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samity pandal with her latest appearance, winning hearts with her traditional Bengali-inspired look and warm interactions with devotees. Arriving on Monday afternoon, the actress embraced the spirit of Durga Puja in a stunning fuchsia pink saree, draped in the traditional Bengali style and paired with a blue blouse. She completed her look with her hair neatly tied in a bun decorated with flowers, creating an elegant festive appearance. As soon as Alia arrived, the atmosphere grew lively, with fans and visitors eager to catch a glimpse of the actor during the celebrations.

Accompanied by her filmmaker friend Ayan Mukerji, Alia made her way through the pandal to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga. Ayan helped ensure that her visit went smoothly as devotees gathered around the actress. Despite the attention, Alia appeared happy to acknowledge people who approached her. She posed for photographs, clicked selfies and shared cheerful moments with friends and acquaintances. Her visit added a touch of Bollywood sparkle to the religious festivities, where devotees had gathered to celebrate the goddess with prayers, rituals and the colourful traditions associated with the annual festival.

Alia’s appearance also brought attention to the Kapoor family’s connection with the celebrations this year. Just a few days earlier, her husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor had visited the same North Bombay Durga Puja pandal. Ranbir opted for a festive red-and-gold kurta paired with white pyjamas as he sought the blessings of Goddess Durga. After his prayers, he greeted the paparazzi and posed for photographs. He also spent time catching up with Ayan Mukerji, the filmmaker behind his popular film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. While Ranbir’s traditional outfit caught attention, it was an unexpected musical moment that soon became a talking point online.

During his visit, Ranbir joined singer Harshdeep Kaur on stage for a spontaneous rendition of ‘Kabira’, the much-loved song from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Videos from the pandal showed the actor holding a microphone and singing along as Harshdeep performed the track. In a particularly engaging moment, he turned his microphone towards the audience, encouraging those present to join in. The impromptu performance quickly caught fans’ attention, offering a nostalgic reminder of the song’s enduring popularity. For admirers of Ranbir and the film, seeing the actor sing the track in a festive setting made the visit even more memorable.

Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotsava, is one of the most significant Hindu festivals, celebrating Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura. According to Hindu belief, the goddess visits the earthly realm during this period to bless her devotees. The celebrations culminate on Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, on the tenth day of the festival. From elaborate pandals and traditional attire to devotional music and moments of community bonding, the festival brings people together in a vibrant celebration of faith and culture. This year, Alia’s graceful appearance and Ranbir’s unexpected musical moment added two memorable celebrity highlights to the festivities at the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samity pandal.
