Reflecting on his own journey, Ravi said, “I wanted to get involved in theatre, but it didn’t work out. I started my career in television, which keeps you extremely busy, so I couldn’t find the time—and I regret that. I will always regret not having had a direct association with theatre thus far. However, if a good play comes along in the future, I would love to be a part of it.” His candid admission offered a glimpse into a side of his professional journey that audiences may not often hear about. Despite his success across television and digital entertainment, theatre remains an avenue he hopes to explore, should the right opportunity come his way.
Ravi also spoke warmly about Mukesh Chhabra’s efforts to keep the Khidkiyaan initiative going. Acknowledging the dedication required to sustain a platform that celebrates the performing arts, he said, “As for Khidkiyaan, Mukesh-bhai has been running it for the past 7–8 years, which is a significant achievement. He didn’t build this initiative for revenue or profit, but rather to promote the arts—and that is truly, deeply commendable.” His remarks highlighted the importance of creating spaces where performers can connect with theatre and audiences can experience the art form beyond conventional commercial entertainment.
Over the years, Ravi Dubey has established himself as a familiar face in Indian television, building a career that spans acting, hosting and production. He made his acting debut in 2006 with Stree... Teri Kahaani before gaining wider recognition through shows such as Saas Bina Sasural and Jamai Raja. His portrayal of Siddharth Khurana in Jamai Raja helped strengthen his position as a leading television actor, while projects such as Matsya Kaand and Lakhan Leela Bhargava allowed him to explore different characters on streaming platforms. His work as a television presenter has further expanded his presence across entertainment formats.
Beyond acting, Ravi has also built a substantial production career with his wife, actress Sargun Mehta. Together, they founded Dreamiyata Entertainment in 2016 and have backed television projects, including Udaariyaan, as well as Punjabi films such as Saunkan Saunkne. Their production journey reflects an interest in developing stories across formats and languages, giving Ravi a broader perspective on the entertainment industry. His appreciation for Khidkiyaan also reflects an understanding of the value of supporting creative spaces that do not necessarily operate with commercial returns as their primary objective.
Ravi is now preparing for another major milestone, having been cast as Lakshmana in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated Ramayana: Part 1. The project marks an important addition to his screen journey as he takes on a character deeply rooted in Indian mythology. While his professional commitments continue to keep him busy, his comments about theatre suggest that the desire to experience the stage has not disappeared. For now, Ravi’s praise for Mukesh Chhabra and the Khidkiyaan initiative serves as a reminder that the arts thrive not only through films and television but also through the dedication of those who create opportunities for live performance.
