Hyderabad, Oct 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) Election authorities in Telangana received 24,323 Form-7 applications seeking deletion of voters from the electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and acting on these claims, deleted 12,204 voters.
During the claims and objections period under the SIR of electoral rolls in Telangana, from June 15 to October 7, a total of 4,88,417 applications were received for new voter enrolment through Form-6.
As per the status of receipt and disposal of Form-6 applications released by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy on Thursday, 51,821 applicants have been added to the electoral rolls.
The CEO released a district-wise and constituency-wise status report on the receipt and disposal of Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8.
Allegations regarding false Form-7 applications recently triggered a row in the state, prompting the CEO to direct District Election Officers (DEOs) to take action against those submitting false claims.
The data show that the maximum number of Form-7 applications (6,335) was received in Hyderabad district.
Acting on these claims, the election authorities deleted 2,066 voters.
In Musheerabad constituency of Hyderabad, where a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Booth Level Agent (BLA) was booked by the police two days ago for allegedly submitting 30 false Form-7 applications, a total of 151 applications were received and, acting on these applications, 87 voters were removed from the rolls.
In Goshamahal constituency, where similar complaints were received, the Election Commission received 222 Form-7 applications, of which 87 were accepted.
In Bahadurpura constituency, where pre-printed Form-7 applications had surfaced, a total of 842 applications were received, of which 242 were accepted.
Rangareddy district, adjoining Hyderabad, recorded the second-highest number of applications (2,223) for deletion of voters, and 1,122 applications were accepted.
In Medchal-Malkajgiri district, also adjoining Hyderabad, 1,749 Form-7 applications were received.
Peddapalli district recorded the fourth-highest number of Form-7 applications (1,737). The authorities deleted 1,332 voters.
During the SIR period, a total of 6,270 Form-6A applications (for enrolment of overseas voters) were received, and 118 applicants were added to the voter list.
Hyderabad accounted for the highest number of applications (4,127), while only 90 applicants were added to the electoral roll.
The report also showed that a total of 5,05,159 Form-8 applications were received for corrections.
After verification, election officials updated entries relating to 2,27,721 voters.
The claims and objections phase of the SIR process concluded on October 7, while the deadline for disposal of applications is November 5, 2026.
The final electoral rolls will be published on November 9, 2026.
As announced by the CEO on Wednesday, more than 71.23 lakh voters have been cleared for inclusion in the final electoral rolls following hearings in their cases and disposal of notices issued to them.
He stated that, as of October 7, a total of 71,23,526 electors had been found eligible for inclusion in the final electoral rolls.
A total of 92,88,180 notices were generated due to logical discrepancies and non-mapping of records during the notices and disposal stages of the SIR process.
The election authorities delivered 91,92,625 notices.
According to the CEO, 95,555 notices remain pending for delivery.
