Patna, Oct 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bihar Police have arrested two brothers for allegedly planting a country-made pistol, ammunition, cannabis and liquor at a neighbour’s premises in an attempt to frame him in a criminal case in Dudhaila village under Pasraha Police Station in Khagaria district.
The accused have been identified as Aman Raj, son of Dudhaila resident Vijay Pandit, and his brother, Ranjan Kumar.
Gogri SDPO Chandan Kumar Thakur disclosed the details during a press conference on Monday.
A case, numbered 215/26, has been registered at Pasraha Police Station in connection with the alleged conspiracy.
According to SDPO Chandan Kumar Thakur, Aman Raj and Ranjan Kumar contacted Pasraha Police at around 10.18 p.m. on October 3 and allegedly informed them that Dudhaila resident Satish Kumar was returning home on a motorcycle carrying a large quantity of liquor, illegal weapons and cannabis.
Acting on the information, SHO Rajiv Ranjan Kumar reached the location with a police team.
However, the two men who had provided the information allegedly fled as soon as the police arrived.
Police subsequently searched the location and recovered a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, four spent cartridge cases, 200 grams of cannabis and 5.625 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
The fact that the informants allegedly fled from the spot raised suspicion among the police, prompting further investigation.
According to the SDPO, the behaviour of Aman Raj was considered suspicious because he had initially approached the police with the information but allegedly fled when the police team reached the spot.
Police then used technical and human intelligence inputs to investigate the matter.
During questioning, investigators allegedly uncovered details of a conspiracy to implicate Satish Kumar, the husband of a police constable who was allegedly blackmailed by the accused.
Police claim that the recovered items had been deliberately placed at or near Satish Kumar’s premises before the tip-off was made.
The investigation also brought to light a case involving Aman Raj and his wife, a woman constable serving in the Bihar Police, according to the SDPO.
Police said Aman Raj came into contact with the woman in 2022 and subsequently allegedly blackmailed her using obscene photographs and videos.
Investigators further alleged that he extorted Rs 10.83 lakh from her through UPI transactions on different dates.
Based on the woman constable’s complaint, Pasraha Police registered Case No. 214/26 on October 3 against Aman Raj.
According to the police, Aman Raj allegedly planned the operation as an act of revenge linked to the dispute involving the woman constable.
The SDPO said Aman Raj and Ranjan Kumar, along with two unidentified individuals, allegedly conspired to frame Satish Kumar by planting 200 grams of cannabis, 5.625 litres of IMFL, a country-made pistol, three live cartridges and four spent cartridge cases at his premises before informing the police.
Following the investigation, police arrested both brothers.
They were subsequently sent to judicial custody.
Police said further investigation is underway to establish the roles of the two unidentified individuals and verify other aspects of the alleged conspiracy.
