Parineeti Chopra steps into the role of Sandhya, an ambitious and fearless investigative reporter who refuses to let a suspicious incident go unexplored. Deven Bhojani plays Vinod, her experienced cameraman and partner in the field. What begins as an attempt to investigate a tragic incident soon takes the duo deep into the illegal sand-mining business, where they find themselves up against a powerful mafia and interests that have plenty to lose if the truth comes out.
The trailer sets up Sandhya as a journalist determined to follow the evidence even when the investigation starts becoming dangerous. Along with Vinod, she begins connecting the dots surrounding the incident and the illegal trade. But the closer they get to the truth, the more unwanted attention they attract. Soon, their reporting turns into a fight for survival, with the trailer packed with threats, tense confrontations, chase sequences and action.
Directed by Dhruv Tripathi, Reporting Live aims to present its investigative story through a grounded thriller format. Rather than focusing only on the world of journalism, the film appears to explore the larger network of crime, money and power surrounding illegal sand mining. The subject gives the story a strong real-world backdrop, while Sandhya and Vinod’s increasingly dangerous journey keeps the suspense at the centre.
The film also boasts a strong supporting cast, with Amol Palekar, Adil Hussain and Shekhar Suman joining Parineeti Chopra and Deven Bhojani. The wider ensemble includes Nasser, Saswata Chatterjee, Samir Kochhar, Geeta Agrawal Sharma, Prachee Shah Paandya, Pitobash Tripathy, Zubin Barnacharya, Vijay Prakash, Manda Nagaonkar, Velraj, Sanjeev Maurya and Shyam Salgaonkar, among others. Produced by Old Monk Entertainment, the project brings together an ensemble cast for a story built around investigation, danger and the pursuit of truth.
Reporting Live is set to premiere on Netflix on October 9, 2026. With Parineeti Chopra taking on a journalist who is willing to take serious risks for her story, the trailer sets up a tense cat-and-mouse game between reporters searching for answers and powerful people determined to keep those answers buried. As Sandhya and Vinod prepare to go “live,” the big question is whether their biggest story will also become the most dangerous one they have ever chased.
