Jaipur, Sep 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) Rajasthan Police have arrested four men after a video showing abusive language and objectionable comments directed at an Israeli female tourist at Kishangarh Dumping Yard went viral on social media, officials said on Tuesday.
The Kishangarh Dumping Yard is a popular tourist attraction in Ajmer district.
Taking suo motu cognisance of the viral video, Gandhinagar Police registered a case based on a report filed by Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajkumar and initiated an investigation.
Following the incident, a police team was formed under Ajmer Range Inspector General of Police Dr Ravi and District Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agrawala.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional SP (Rural) Dr Lalchand Kayal and Kishangarh Circle Officer Dharmraj Chaudhary, and led by Gandhinagar SHO Anil Sharma.
SP Harshvardhan Agrawala said the police team identified the four unidentified suspects through technical analysis and information received from a reliable informant.
The accused were subsequently arrested in a police operation. They have been identified as Mohammad Furkhan, 25, Mohammad Anees, 21, Farhan, 24, and Akhtar Ali, 22, all residents of Kishangarh.
Police said a separate FIR has been registered in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.
The arrested accused are being questioned about their alleged involvement in the incident and the circumstances surrounding the recording and circulation of the video. The accused told the investigators that the video is three years old but has now gone viral.
Meanwhile, the Israeli tourist, in a message, said that she loves India and remained in the country for six months. She said she still wants to visit India despite the unpleasant incident. She thanked Rajasthan police for action taken against the miscreants.
Ajmer Police said strict legal action would be taken against those found responsible for misconduct that affects the safety and dignity of tourists or disrupts law and order.
The investigation is continuing.
