Running for around 57 seconds, the teaser wastes little time establishing the world of the film. Vast desert landscapes, imposing forts, camels, traditional clothing and the unmistakable visual character of Rajasthan create an atmospheric backdrop for a story that appears to be anything but peaceful. Beneath the beauty of the desert lies a family caught in a difficult situation, with the teaser hinting at greed, power struggles, inherited expectations and desperation. The line “A simple wish. A desperate family. A story waiting to unfold” captures the intriguing emotional core of the film.
Rather than relying solely on its regional identity, Dhood appears to use Rajasthan as the setting for a deeply human story with themes that can travel well beyond the state. The teaser hints at tensions within a family where lineage and power appear to carry enormous weight. As desires collide with circumstances, the desert becomes more than just a picturesque location — it becomes part of the film’s atmosphere and identity. The psychological drama seems poised to explore how ordinary wishes can spiral into complicated choices when family, pride and desperation enter the equation.
The film features an ensemble cast led by Yashpal Sharma and Alka Amin, alongside Bhawani Singh Chauhan, Vivek Pareek, Praveen Choudhary and Vanikki Tyagi. With seasoned performers bringing the characters to life, Dhood appears to be leaning heavily on its performances and atmosphere rather than conventional commercial spectacle. Anand Singh Chouhan has written and directed the film, while Mehul Surti has composed the music, adding another important layer to the film’s desert-rooted world.
Behind the camera, Dhood brings together a team working across cinematography, production design, editing, sound and visual effects to create its early-1990s Rajasthan setting. The film is presented by Kalam Academy and Samar Jain and produced by Soul Of Desert in association with Studio Ainak. The makers have also assembled a detailed technical team, with the visual treatment aiming to capture both the grandeur of Rajasthan and the darker emotional landscape at the heart of the story.
Dhood (Sandstorm) will release in cinemas across India on October 23, 2026, through Miraj Cinema. With its teaser now setting the tone, the film arrives with the ambition of taking a distinctly Rajasthani story to audiences far beyond its home region. Its desert landscapes may immediately draw the eye, but it is the story of a desperate family, buried tensions and the dangerous pull of greed and power that could ultimately give Dhood its strongest cinematic punch.
