Clayface Final Trailer: DC Studios Goes Full Horror with Gotham’s Most Terrifying Villain

Warner Bros. and DC Studios have unveiled the final official trailer for Clayface, offering audiences a chilling look at the studio’s first-ever horror thriller set within the Batman universe. Moving away from the familiar superhero spectacle, the upcoming film promises a disturbing body-horror experience centred on Matt Hagen, a rising actor whose life takes a horrifying turn after his face is disfigured by a gangster. With his career and identity seemingly destroyed, Hagen turns to a scientist for help, setting him on a path that ultimately transforms him into the terrifying Clayface.

Tom Rhys Harries leads the film as Matt Hagen, bringing the character’s tragic transformation to the centre of the story. The trailer teases a disturbing journey from Hollywood ambition to physical and psychological horror as Hagen’s desperation pushes him toward an experimental scientific solution. What begins as an attempt to reclaim his face and career gradually becomes something far more sinister, as his body itself starts changing. The result is a character caught between his former human identity and the monstrous figure he is becoming.

At its core, Clayface appears to be exploring themes that go well beyond a conventional comic-book origin story. The film examines the loss of identity and humanity, corrosive love and the dangerous consequences of scientific ambition.
