Stanley Tucci Leads ‘Masterplan’: Prime Video Unveils Trailer for a Chaotic Mona Lisa Heist Comedy

Prime Video and Gaumont have unveiled the full official trailer for Masterplan, an upcoming French-Italian Prime Original that brings together art theft, family secrets and plenty of comedy. Headlined by Stanley Tucci, the film follows a legendary thief who sets his sights on the world-famous Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris. But this isn't just another elaborate heist, because the mastermind has a very personal surprise waiting for the two young criminals he recruits.

Tucci stars as Roger, a celebrated art thief who brings together Chiara, played by Simona Tabasco, and Jay, played by Victor Belmondo, for the seemingly impossible mission. Chiara is a sharp Italian cybercrime expert, while Jay is a confident French explosives specialist. The pair appear to have the very different skills needed for an audacious operation, but neither is prepared for Roger's biggest revelation — they are long-lost siblings, and he is their father.

The discovery turns what should have been a carefully planned crime into an unexpectedly chaotic family reunion. Suddenly, Chiara and Jay aren't just working with a legendary thief; they are dealing with a father they never knew and a sibling they never asked for. As tensions rise, the trio must somehow put their personal differences aside and learn to function as a team if they want to steal the Mona Lisa without destroying the family dynamic before the heist even gets started.

At the centre of Masterplan is, of course, the Mona Lisa, one of the most recognisable artworks in the world. The trailer promises a playful take on the classic art-heist genre, mixing elaborate schemes with family drama and comic clashes between its three central characters. And while stealing Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece from the Louvre sounds like the ultimate target, the story hints that Roger may have a few more tricks up his sleeve.

Directed by French filmmaker Thomas Vincent, Masterplan features a screenplay written by Vincent and David Wolstencroft. The combination of an international cast and a French-Italian production gives the film a distinctly European flavour, while Stanley Tucci's presence adds another layer of charm to the eccentric criminal mastermind at the heart of the story. Simona Tabasco and Victor Belmondo complete the unlikely trio as the younger members of Roger's newly discovered family.

Masterplan is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on October 16, 2026.
