Vadodara, Sep 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Gujarat on Monday for a three-day visit during which she will attend the presentation ceremony of the 72nd National Film Awards at Ekta Nagar and the 75th annual convocation of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Vadodara.
Murmu arrived at Vadodara Airport, where she was received by Governor Acharya Devvrat, Minister of State Praful Pansheriya, Vadodara Mayor Geeta Makwana, Police Commissioner Narsimha Komar, Major General Mohit Gandhi and Collector Dr Anil Dhameliya.
Following her arrival, the President departed for Kevadia in Narmada district, where she is scheduled to attend the presentation ceremony of the 72nd National Film Awards on Tuesday.
The distance between Vadodara and Ekta Nagar is around 90 km. The President's three-day Gujarat visit, from September 21 to 23, includes engagements in cinema, higher education and spiritual initiatives.
According to the President's Secretariat, Murmu will grace the 72nd National Film Awards presentation ceremony at Ekta Nagar on September 22.
The National Film Awards ceremony will bring together recipients being recognised for their contribution to Indian cinema.
The event comes ahead of Murmu's return to Vadodara on September 23 for the 75th annual convocation of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where she will confer degrees on graduating students.
On the same day, Murmu will launch the Brahma Kumaris' campaign, 'Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal', and inaugurate the 'Global Spiritual Palace' Retreat Centre in Vadodara.
She will also virtually launch the Brahma Kumaris Nadiad campaign, 'Youth for Viksit Bharat: Awakening Inner Strength for Nation Building', according to the President's Secretariat.
The visit to Gujarat is part of the President's scheduled engagements across the state, with the National Film Awards programme taking place at Ekta Nagar and the subsequent university and Brahma Kumaris programmes in and around Vadodara.
