Lucknow, Sep 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Uttar Pradesh Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar has said that AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are unlikely to come together for an alliance ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Responding to Owaisi’s recent remarks on a possible alliance, Rajbhar said the differences over political leadership and representation would make such an arrangement difficult.
“They will not form an alliance, so they should not remain under any illusion. Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi consider themselves leaders of the Muslim community. Owaisi ji wants a Muslim to become Chief Minister. Neither Akhilesh Yadav nor Rahul Gandhi likes that, so how will these people form an alliance?” Rajbhar told IANS.
Rajbhar also reiterated his position that Uttar Pradesh could eventually be divided into four states, with the eastern region of Purvanchal becoming a separate state.
“There is such a large population in Purvanchal, and the most important thing is that Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in the country. Sooner or later, whether today, tomorrow or the day after, it is bound to be divided,” he said.
He further asserted that if Uttar Pradesh were divided into four parts, the demographic strength of Purvanchal would make political leadership from the region significant.
“The day Uttar Pradesh is divided into four parts, given the population in Purvanchal, and since we are in Ambedkar Nagar, whoever we form an alliance with, it is certain that the first Chief Minister of Purvanchal will be a son of the Rajbhar community,” the Uttar Pradesh minister said.
Rajbhar’s comments came after Owaisi said AIMIM would announce its decision on a possible alliance for the Uttar Pradesh elections by October 2. Owaisi has said his party is prepared to contest the polls and wants to expand its political representation in the state.
Addressing a public meeting in Kanpur earlier, Owaisi also said AIMIM was open to joining hands with parties that do not want the BJP to return to power in Uttar Pradesh for a third consecutive term. He urged such parties to work together and said AIMIM would announce its alliance, if any, after October 2.
