On September 17, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Zambia held a Legal Affairs Dialogue between the Chinese Community in Zambia and the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) of Zambia. Counsellor Wang Li of the Embassy hosted a team of senior officials from the NPA led by Mrs. Rhoda Malibata-Jackson, Principal State Advocate, and nearly 30 representatives from major Chinese community associations and chambers of commerce in Zambia.
In her remarks, Counsellor Wang said that under the strategic guidance of the two Heads of State, China-Zambia relations continue to deepen, achieving high-quality development, and practical cooperation of the two countries has delivered tangible results across various fields. As the number of Chinese nationals in Zambia continues to increase, the Chinese community’s need to understand Zambian laws and regulations has become increasingly urgent.
Counsellor Wang noted that the dialogue is an important move taken by the Embassy to strengthen its ties with Zambian prosecution authorities and improve consular protection mechanisms for Chinese nationals in Zambia. It provides an important platform for the Chinese community in Zambia to learn about the host country’s legal system and judicial procedures.
Mrs. Malibata-Jackson, Principal State Advocate of the NPA, said that the Chinese community has made outstanding contributions to Zambia’s social and economic development and expressed the hope that both sides will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the legal field.Representatives from the Chinese community in Zambia actively participated in the meeting and exchanged their opinions with the officials from the NPA. They said that they would dig deep into relevant Zambian laws and continue to make contributions to the high-standard cooperation between China and Zambia.
