New Delhi, Sep 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Lieutenant General Vikas Rohella, Engineer-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Military Engineer Services (MES), on Thursday stressed the need to take steps to strengthen ethics and accountability.
Lieutenant General Vikas Rohella highlighted the steps taken in MES to strengthen ethics and accountability, including the introduction of the Electronic Measurement Book.
All the stages of public procurement and discretion exercised must be qualified with ethical principles, he said.
He was addressing officers of the Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE) under Military Engineer Services (MES), Ministry of Defence, who celebrated their 77th Raising Day by organising a day-long conference.
Themed ‘Ethics, Accountability and Excellence towards achieving the aim of Viksit Bharat @ 2047’, the conference was attended by participants from various departments and ministries such as the Ministry of Railways, Central Vigilance Commission, Defence Accounts Department, National Highway Authority, and Public Sector Undertakings.
The entire fraternity of MES, including senior officers of the Corps of Engineers and representatives of cadre associations such as Surveyors, Architects, Barrack and Stores, and Administration, were present on the occasion.
In another development, the Annual Principals’ and Administrative Officers’ Conference 2026 was held in New Delhi recently.
In a message on X, the Indian Army said, “The Annual Conference of Rashtriya Military Schools #RMS was held at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi on September 15, 2026, chaired by Lieutenant General Vipul Shinghal, DCOAS (IS&T).”
“Distinguished RMS alumni Shri Ashok Lavasa, IAS (Retd), and Lieutenant General SN Handa (Retd) graced the occasion as Guests of Honour. The conference brought together senior military leadership, dignitaries and RMS alumni to review institutional progress and share best practices in academics, leadership, discipline and holistic cadet development,” it said.
“A significant milestone was the institution of the Best RMS Trophy in honour of Captain GS Salaria, #PVC, recognising overall institutional excellence. The initiative reaffirms the RMS ethos of character building, discipline, leadership and nation building,” said a post on X by Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of the Ministry of Defence.
