Ishita Dutta on Drishyam 3: ‘I Simply Cannot Wait; There Are Just Ten Days Left Now’

With Drishyam 3 just days away from its theatrical release, anticipation around the much-awaited third chapter of the franchise is clearly building, and Ishita Dutta says she can feel the excitement wherever she goes. During her recent visit to a Ganpati pandal with husband Vatsal Sheth, the actress spoke about the film and admitted that the constant conversations around the upcoming thriller have made her even more eager for audiences to finally watch it. “I think there is a lot of anticipation and excitement, especially regarding this third installment. Wherever I go, people are talking about it. I simply cannot wait; there are just ten days left now. We just seek blessings that the audience loves it,” Ishita said.

Ishita, who plays Anju Salgaonkar, Ajay Devgn’s on-screen daughter in the Drishyam franchise, was at the pandal with Vatsal as they sought blessings from Bappa. Speaking about the visit, she said the couple had been planning it for quite some time and were happy to finally make it happen. “It feels wonderful. We had been planning this for a long time, and finally, today we got to seek 'Papa's' blessings. We try to visit every year; I think we came two years ago as well. Last year, the baby was too young, so we couldn't make it, but it feels great to be here. The vibes are amazing,” she shared.

The Ganpati visit also became a moment of gratitude for Ishita, who reflected on the blessings her family has received and the exciting phase her career is currently entering. Talking about Drishyam 3, she said, “For me, I just want to thank Bappa because He has always blessed us. We have two lovely children; one of my films has been released, and another is upcoming. So, I think everything is going well. I just want Him to keep showering His blessings upon us. That is why I wanted to come and say 'thank you' to Bappa—I am truly excited.” Her words reflected a mix of professional excitement and personal gratitude as she prepares for another major release.

Titled Drishyam: The Conclusion, the highly anticipated third instalment is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026, coinciding with the Gandhi Jayanti weekend. The film is being presented as the final chapter of the Hindi Drishyam franchise, bringing Vijay Salgaonkar and his family back into a story that promises to put them under their most intense pressure yet. With the countdown now entering its final stretch, the makers are keeping much of the plot under wraps, allowing the anticipation surrounding the conclusion to build.

Interestingly, the Hindi version of Drishyam 3 is taking a different creative route from the earlier films. Unlike the previous instalments, Drishyam: The Conclusion is not a remake of the Malayalam franchise. Director Abhishek Pathak and the writing team have developed a completely original story for the Hindi audience, including a new climax created specifically for this version. The film is also being promoted as a much darker chapter, with Vijay Salgaonkar facing what could be his biggest challenge yet.

For Ishita, the release carries another layer of excitement because the franchise has remained closely associated with her character Anju and her family. After spending the last few years stepping back from work while raising her two children, the actress is now looking forward to being more active professionally again. Her comments suggest that Drishyam 3 is arriving at an important point in her return to the screen.

The conversation also turned towards whether audiences could eventually see Ishita Dutta and Vatsal Sheth together in a project. The actress made it clear that the idea is something both of them are open to. “I hope—we want to work together whenever the opportunity arises. I had stepped back a bit for the last two or three years because I had two children, but now I am back. I am starting again, and we both want to... you know, work together,” she said.

As their Ganpati celebrations continue, Ishita also shared an emotional thought about the festival coming to an end. “It happens only once a year. I already feel sad that it is coming to an end. 'Papa' had already visited our home as well. We had kept him for a day and a half. So, when he leaves, it truly feels very sad,” she said, describing the emotional connection the family shares with the festival.

With only a few days left before Drishyam: The Conclusion reaches theatres, Ishita Dutta is hoping that the blessings of Bappa translate into the kind of audience response the team has been waiting for. The third chapter promises a fresh story, a new climax and a darker challenge for Vijay Salgaonkar — and if Ishita’s excitement is anything to go by, the countdown to finding out how the Salgaonkar story ends has well and truly begun.
