I believe there cannot be a more beautiful way to celebrate a birthday than this. May we be of service to someone, help a needy person, bring a smile to someone's face… just this simple resolve.” He concluded his message by wishing the Prime Minister and added, “Keep inspiring our great nation. Jai Bharat. Jai Mahakal.”
The actor’s post comes as a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan begins on September 17. The initiative has been announced around Modi’s birthday and the completion of 25 years of his public service, with programmes including blood donation camps, health initiatives, cleanliness drives and other public-welfare activities planned in different parts of the country.
The idea of marking the Prime Minister’s birthday through public-service activities has featured in previous years as well. For instance, in an earlier appeal, the Prime Minister had asked well-wishers to avoid birthday celebrations and instead dedicate their time and resources to relief work in Jammu and Kashmir.
Akshay Kumar’s birthday message, however, focused specifically on the simple, everyday acts of kindness that individuals can undertake. Rather than talking about elaborate celebrations, the actor highlighted helping someone in need, serving others and putting a smile on someone’s face as a meaningful way to observe the day.
