On Monday, Kartik gave fans a glimpse of his celebrations on social media. The actor shared a picture of himself holding a small idol of Lord Ganesha, marking the auspicious occasion even while being away from home. The simple yet heartfelt moment offered a glimpse into how he is keeping his festive traditions alive while busy with his film commitments abroad.
But Kartik's London Ganesh Chaturthi celebration wasn't all about prayers. In another post, the actor showed an outlet featuring modaks on its menu, one of the most beloved sweets associated with the festival. And keeping the desi mood going, Kartik later shared a picture of himself enjoying a plate of chole bhature, proving that a little homesickness can always be treated with some good Indian food.
Kartik has been stationed in London for some time as he works on Captain India. The film is directed by Shimit Amin, best known for the much-loved Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chak De! India. The project is being produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Baweja Studios along with Dopamine Studios, while SB Films is handling the production.
While his professional commitments keep him busy in London, Kartik is also gearing up for a major milestone back home. The actor is set to receive his first-ever National Film Award at the upcoming ceremony scheduled for September 22. This year’s National Film Awards ceremony will be held in Gujarat, marking a departure from the event’s long-standing association with Delhi.
Kartik will be jointly honoured with veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category. Kartik has been recognised for his performance in Chandu Champion, while Mammootty has been honoured for his work in Bramayugam. The National Award marks another significant chapter in Kartik’s journey, particularly following the praise he received for his transformation and performance in the sports drama.
For now, though, the actor appears to be enjoying a little piece of home while working abroad. From holding a Ganpati idol to spotting modaks and digging into chole bhature, Kartik Aaryan’s London celebration showed that you don't necessarily need to be in India to keep the festive spirit alive.
