Aarti Singh Celebrates Ganpati With Husband Deepak Chauhan Reveals South Indian Temple Inspired Theme at Home

Ganesh Utsav has begun at Aarti Singh’s home, and for the television actress, this year’s celebration is particularly special. Aarti, along with her husband Deepak Chauhan, hosted Ganpati Bappa at their home, marking three years of a tradition she began after marriage. Sharing her excitement about welcoming Lord Ganesha, Aarti said, “We had been waiting for this for a long time, and there was so much preparation involved. Now that the idol has been installed, it truly feels like Ganpati Bappa has arrived.”

For Aarti, bringing Ganpati home is a tradition that carries a strong family connection. She revealed that her family has been hosting Bappa for 21 years, a tradition earlier followed by her mother. However, Aarti began her own Ganpati celebrations after getting married to businessman Deepak Chauhan in April 2024. “But for me, it’s been three years—ever since I got married; before that, I had never hosted Ganpati. I had always decided that once I got married, I would host Ganpati in my own home,” she shared.

The actress also spoke about the joy of having her husband by her side during the celebrations. Reflecting on the opportunity to perform the puja and serve Lord Ganesha together, Aarti said, “It feels absolutely wonderful.” With the couple now celebrating Ganpati together for the third year, the festival has become an important part of their life as husband and wife. Aarti summed up her emotions simply by saying, “Ganpati Bappa Morya!”

This year, the couple decided to make their home décor especially distinctive. Drawing inspiration from their travels across South India, Aarti revealed that they chose a temple-inspired South Indian theme for the celebrations. “We actually visited Rameswaram, Ranganathaswamy, Meenakshi, and various other temples across South India, so we decided to go with a South Indian theme this time,” she explained.

Aarti said the idea for the theme came from her, while the couple worked to bring the vision to life. She also revealed that they have their own décor and event management company, allowing them to personally explore creative ideas for their festive celebrations. The result is a Ganpati setup inspired by the grandeur and aesthetic of South Indian temples, adding a distinctly traditional touch to their home.

Food and prasad, of course, remain another important part of the festivities. While modaks and laddus are among the couple’s usual offerings, this year’s spread included an assortment of traditional favourites. Aarti revealed that the prasad included kheer, paneer, aloo-puri, suji halwa and dal-chawal, making the celebration as much about sharing food and blessings as it is about rituals.

Aarti also opened up about an upcoming television appearance featuring her and Deepak. The actress revealed that the couple has shot an episode for Sony alongside her brother Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah. She added that the episode, which has a cricket-related theme involving Rohit Sharma, is expected to be out soon. While Aarti continues to remain active on television, she joked that Deepak is not particularly interested in making television appearances regularly.

As Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations continue, Aarti also had a heartfelt message for her fans. With Visarjan eventually bringing the festivities to a close, the actress urged everyone to celebrate with kindness. “I just want to say Happy Ganesh Chaturthi! Stay happy and healthy, and... just be kind to people and animals as well,” she said.

For Aarti Singh, Ganpati is clearly more than an annual celebration. It is a tradition passed down through her family, a new ritual she chose to establish in her married life and now a beautiful occasion she celebrates alongside her husband.
