Divyenndu plays Sugam Mishra, a newly appointed railway constable who is simply trying to find his feet in his new job. His routine changes when he notices something suspicious: railway tickets are getting confirmed within seconds of the booking window opening. For someone who has watched passengers struggle to secure tickets, the situation immediately raises questions. Sugam decides to investigate, unaware that his curiosity is about to pull him into a much larger racket.
His investigation leads him towards Afroz Hamsa, played by Bhuvan Arora. Afroz is a tech expert who has discovered a way to manipulate the ticket booking system, turning a seemingly harmless technical trick into a potentially lucrative operation. What begins as a strange pattern in ticket confirmations soon develops into a full-blown cat-and-mouse chase, with Sugam determined to uncover the truth and Afroz doing everything possible to remain one step ahead.
Sugam’s wife Princy, played by Harshita Gaur, also becomes an important part of his journey. Rather than letting him brush aside the mystery, Princy encourages him to dig deeper. As Sugam gets closer to discovering how the racket works, the pressure begins to build, putting his new job and his personal life in the middle of an increasingly complicated situation.
Waiting Hai is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sameer Vidwans and features a strong ensemble cast. Along with Divyenndu, Bhuvan Arora and Harshita Gaur, the series stars Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Srushti Tare and Sunita Rajwar in key roles. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay Rai and presented by Jio Studios, the series appears to balance its scam storyline with plenty of humour and relatable situations.
Waiting Hai will begin streaming on September 16, 2026, on Prime Video and the MX Player Android app, which has been refreshed as MX Player by Prime Video. With railway ticket struggles providing the perfect backdrop for a comedy crime story, Divyenndu’s new avatar as Sugam Mishra could make this an entertaining ride. And considering how many passengers have fought the dreaded waitlist battle, this particular scam might hit a little closer to home.
