Patna, Sep 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out a surprise search at the Postal Division and Sub-Division offices located on the premises of the Buxar Head Post Office on Tuesday.
According to preliminary information, a team of the central agency conducted a surprise search of the office premises and examined important documents and records.
During the operation, three individuals were detained and taken to the Town Police Station, where they were questioned by the investigating team.
The CBI has not yet disclosed the reason for the raid. Significantly, the Buxar Post Office was granted the status of a separate postal division a few months ago. Following the change, the scope of administrative operations and financial transactions handled by the division increased.
Against this backdrop, the sudden CBI action has raised questions about the functioning of the department and its internal monitoring mechanisms.
However, there is currently no official confirmation linking the raid to any specific financial irregularity, corruption case or alleged bribery matter.
The CBI has previously investigated allegations of corruption and financial irregularities involving the Postal Department in Bihar.
Such cases have included alleged irregularities in recruitment, pension-related matters and passbook transactions in different postal divisions.
Past reports have also referred to investigations involving alleged irregularities in Gramin Dak Sevak recruitment, postage stamp allocation and digital financial transactions in parts of North Bihar and the Shahabad region.
The current action in Buxar is being viewed locally in the context of such previous cases. However, there is no official confirmation that Tuesday's raid is connected to any of them. The three detained individuals are reportedly being questioned at the Town Police Station.
Further action, including the possibility of registration of an FIR, is expected to be clear after the questioning and examination of documents are completed.
Neither the local administration nor the Postal Department has so far issued detailed information regarding the CBI operation.
