Talking about her earlier encounter with Salman, Isha said, “No, I think a long time ago, when I was modeling, I did a 'Being Human' show—ages ago—and that’s when I saw him. I didn’t meet him in person, but that was the first time I saw him right in front of me. Yes, the first time I’ll be face-to-face with him.” The moment may have been brief, but it makes her upcoming Bigg Boss experience even more interesting as she prepares to share the stage with Salman and then enter a house where almost everything is unpredictable.
As the reality show gets closer, Isha admits that her preparations are accompanied by a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She said, “They’re going well. The preparations for Bigg Boss are going really well. I’m excited, but also nervous—it’s a mix of emotions, actually.” For someone who has largely preferred keeping her personal life private, stepping into an environment where cameras follow contestants around the clock is undoubtedly a major change.
One of her biggest concerns, however, has nothing to do with the cameras, tasks or nominations. Isha revealed that she is most worried about being away from her mother for such a long period. “I’m actually most nervous about my mom, because I’m very close to her. So, more than missing the comforts of home, I’m worried about her well-being—she’ll be on her own, so naturally, I’ll worry about her. But it’s part of the job, I suppose. I’ll just pray that everything goes smoothly.” Her words offer a glimpse into the softer side of the actress, who is now preparing to leave behind the comforts of home and her phone for the Bigg Boss experience.
Bigg Boss has a reputation for bringing contestants’ pasts into the spotlight, and Isha is well aware of that reality. Rather than preparing a list of answers or worrying about every possible controversy, she says she has reached a stage where she would rather accept whatever comes her way. “Honestly, I just want to take things as they come now. Because the thing is, no matter how much we plan.....God's plan is what ultimately unfolds. So, I don't want to expend energy on that anymore. I’m more in a 'surrender zone' now—let's see how things turn out. I’ll deal with situations as they arise, based on the moment and the energy of that time. I’m open to it now.”
When asked how she would react if fellow contestants questioned her about her past, Isha made it clear that she does not believe she owes everyone an explanation. She said, “Honestly, as I said, it depends on the person raising those questions—what kind of person they are. Because it doesn't matter... and I don't feel I owe an explanation to everyone. I want to keep certain things to myself. There are things I have no problem sharing, but there are others I don't want to share—and probably won't want to share in the future, either. So, I don't think I’ll go in with pre-planned answers for specific people. I’ll assess the person first—is the individual even worth my energy? If they aren't, I won't waste my energy on them. Yes, there are plenty of fights and arguments.”
Isha is also realistic about the fact that arguments are almost inevitable when several strangers are forced to live together. Rather than pretending she will stay away from every confrontation, she accepts that clashes are simply part of human behaviour. “Of course, arguments and fights happen—whether at home, with friends, or with siblings. So, I feel it’s part of human emotion, and I’m sure I’ll get into arguments too; it’s not like I won’t. But it depends on the intensity of the conflicts, because that’s something we can’t really predict. There will be so many people, so many housemates. You know the saying—where there are dishes, they’re bound to clatter—so I know there will be some clashing, and I’m prepared for that.”
Interestingly, if Isha gets a chance to take charge of a particular area inside the house, she already knows where she could be useful. The actress picked the kitchen, but with one important clarification: she is much better at cleaning than cooking. “I think the kitchen... No, not the cooking part—I’m good at cleaning. I’m a bit of a neat freak, so I like keeping things organized; I think I could handle that. But then again, I’d have to cook... I don’t know how to cook, though I can do the chopping and handle the dishes and everything else.”
With her first face-to-face meeting with Salman Khan still ahead, Isha Rikhi is entering Bigg Boss 20 without trying to predict every twist waiting for her. From worrying about her mother to accepting possible confrontations and refusing to waste energy on unnecessary explanations, the actress appears determined to experience the show moment by moment. And perhaps her biggest preparation is the mindset she has already revealed — she is entering Bigg Boss in a “surrender zone,” ready to see where the journey takes her.
