Bengal BJP to hold month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' to mark PM Modi completing 25 years in public service

Kolkata, Sep 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) The West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would organise a month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public service.

State BJP President Samik Bhattacharya said on Monday that the campaign would be conducted in West Bengal from booth to district levels.

According to the BJP leader, PM Modi will complete 25 years in top executive office on October 7, having first taken oath as the Gujarat Chief Minister and later as the country's longest serving Prime Minister.

He said that the campaign would highlight his administrative journey and welfare initiatives.

"The programme will include lighting at least 25 lamps at every booth on September 17, Prime Minister Modi's birthday, seeking his good health, longevity and success. 'Namo Seva Gatha', an information film and theme song, and 'Seva Jyoti Yatra' will also be organised to take the campaign to people at district and mandal levels," Bhattacharya added.

Under 'Sevay Amar Abadan', people will be encouraged to participate in cleanliness drives, show support for marginalised communities, restoration of rivers and water bodies, water conservation and waste segregation.

The BJP will also organise 'Seva Setu Abhiyan', involving three-day camps at every block to help eligible beneficiaries access Central and state welfare schemes.

Bhattacharya said that assistance will include filling applications and completing digital procedures.

Ayushman Bharat, Annapurna Yojana, old-age pensions and other schemes will be covered in these camps.

State BJP Chief Bhattacharya alleged that several Central schemes, including PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Vishwakarma and PM-Kisan, had not been properly implemented in West Bengal because of political differences and non-cooperation of the previous Trinamool Congress-led state government.

The campaign will also feature drawing, recitation and creative competitions for children, while science congresses will be held in Kolkata and four other cities to encourage young innovators.

Fine arts colleges in West Bengal will also participate.

The BJP also plans to collect and publicise success stories of 25 lakh beneficiary families through social media, Instagram and the mainstream media.
