Mohanlal has unveiled the title of his next major project, Operation Ganga, and the film immediately carries the weight of a story that millions of Indians witnessed unfold in real time. The superstar shared the official poster on social media, introducing a big-screen retelling of India’s 2022 evacuation mission, which brought thousands of Indian citizens, including a large number of students, home from war-torn Ukraine following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan, Operation Ganga looks set to be mounted as a large-scale dramatic spectacle rather than a conventional war film. The first poster places Mohanlal prominently at the centre, surrounded by imagery that evokes urgency, national resolve and the chaos of a conflict zone.
