Tight security arrangements for Janmashtami, over 600 cops deployed; traffic diversions around ISKCON temple in Noida

Noida, Sep 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) Special pujas and religious programmes are being organised at various temples across Noida on Friday to mark Krishna Janmashtami. Anticipating a large number of devotees visiting the temples on the occasion, the police and traffic departments have made extensive arrangements for security and traffic management.

Traffic diversions have been implemented around the ISKCON Temple in Sector 33, particularly in anticipation of large crowds.

According to police officials, security has been tightened around major temples across the city in view of Janmashtami. More than 600 police personnel have been deployed for security duties, including around one-and-a-half companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), 20 inspectors and more than 300 police personnel.

Along with the deployment of police forces around the temples, additional arrangements have been made to regulate crowds and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

The ISKCON Temple in Sector 33 is expected to receive the largest number of devotees on Janmashtami. In view of this, the traffic police have made changes to vehicular movement around the temple. Traffic will be restricted from the ATPC underpass towards Gijhour intersection and from Gijhour Chowk towards the ATPC. Vehicles travelling from Gijhour towards the Atta underpass will be diverted via Hoshiarpur intersection and other alternative routes.

Parking arrangements have been made near the Adobe Building for devotees visiting the temple. VVIP vehicles will enter through the Sector 33/34 intersection and park at the Shilp Haat parking lot.

The traffic police have also established alternative routes for vehicles travelling towards Sectors 60, 62 and Indirapuram from the Sector 31/25 intersection. Such vehicles will proceed towards Gijhour via Spice Mall, Adobe Chowk and Sectors 22, 23 and 54. The measures are aimed at reducing traffic congestion around the temple.

Besides the ISKCON Temple, other major temples in the city are also expected to witness large gatherings of devotees during Janmashtami.

Police have made special security arrangements at all major temples. Police personnel will be deployed around temple premises, and vehicle routes will be diverted as required. Traffic diversions will also be implemented around the Sanatan Dharma Temple in Sector 19, if necessary.

Traffic from DM Chowk towards Rai Residency and the Telephone Exchange will be regulated. Similarly, vehicular movement may be restricted, if required, between Sandeep Paper Mill Square and Golchakkar Chowk around the Sector 2 temple.

Police officials have appealed to people not to park their vehicles unnecessarily around temples during Janmashtami and to use designated parking areas only.
