Bhopal, Sep 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Friday that the state government was making all efforts to find a permanent and better solution to the long-standing issue concerning commercial activities in residential areas of Bhopal.
Chief Minister Yadav added that the state government was taking the matter pending before the Supreme Court seriously and was placing the concerns of traders and local residents before the apex court.
"Amid festivals and celebrations, we remain fully alert and committed to all our responsibilities. We are placing all the difficulties and issues related to Bhopal before the Supreme Court with full seriousness," he said.
The Chief Minister's remarks came against the backdrop of the sealing drive being carried out against commercial establishments allegedly operating in violation of land-use norms in residential areas of the state capital.
The action being carried by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) affected traders and business establishments operating from such premises and has led to concerns over livelihoods.
Traders have been seeking a solution to the issue, which has remained unresolved for years due to pending Master Plan of Bhopal.
The matter has also reached the Supreme Court, where various aspects related to commercial activities in residential areas are being considered.
The state government has said that it would present the interests and concerns of affected traders and residents before the court.
Chief Minister Yadav said the state government would consider all aspects of the issue while keeping the interests of both traders and local residents in mind.
"Under the prevailing circumstances, we will seriously consider all aspects while keeping in mind the interests of traders and local residents. Our side will also be presented strongly before the Supreme Court," the Chief Minister added.
He said that the state government would make every possible effort to find a permanent and better solution to the long-standing problem.
The sealing drive is linked to the enforcement of land-use regulations governing residential areas in Bhopal.
Commercial establishments functioning in areas where such activities are not permitted under the applicable norms have faced action by the authorities.
The issue has become a significant concern for traders, many of whom have been operating businesses from the affected areas for several years.
