Ranchi, Sep 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is probing irregularities, malpractice, and paper leak cases related to recruitment examinations in Jharkhand, on Friday conducted searches at the office of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) in Namkum and questioned its secretary, Sudhir Gupta.
The team also scrutinised examination records and several key documents at the commission office.
During the exercise, CID officials examined documents kept in the commission's record room and other relevant branches.
According to sources, the team came across certain OMR sheets and other important examination-related documents. However, the CID has not yet issued any official statement on the nature or quantity of the documents examined or recovered.
Sources said that before reaching the JSSC office, the CID team also searched the residence of secretary Sudhir Gupta on Harihar Singh Road in Ranchi's Morabadi area.
Officials reportedly inspected documents and electronic devices available at the residence. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding any material recovered during the search.
The investigating agency is trying to ascertain the level at which the alleged irregularities occurred and identify those who may have been involved.
Documents and digital evidence collected during the probe are being cross-verified with records related to the examination process.
The CID is also examining whether any unauthorised person gained access to question papers or other confidential materials before the examinations.
According to sources, more officials and employees linked to the matter could be questioned in the coming days.
So far, the CID has not released a detailed official statement regarding the search at the secretary's residence, the questioning at the JSSC office, or the alleged recovery of documents.
Earlier, on August 31, the JSSC cancelled the Intermediate Level (Computer Knowledge and Hindi Typing Qualification Holder Posts) Combined Competitive Examination-2023, bringing the recruitment process for around 836 clerk posts in various state government departments to a halt.
