New Delhi, Sep 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Harsh Malhotra said on Thursday that sending to jail or granting bail to any accused is a normal part of the judicial process, and the same applies to the case of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Minister Satyendar Jain, who was recently arrested in connection with the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) scam before being granted bail.
Malhotra added that getting bail does not mean that an accused has been acquitted.
He said in the context of the case against Jain whose bail on Thursday was turned into a celebratory event by his party members who described it as a virtual clean chit.
He added that Jain will face trial and the investigating agency's legal case is strong enough to ensure that he and others will certainly be convicted.
The Delhi BJP President said after completing its investigation, the investigating agency arrested Jain and produced him before the court.
The court sent Jain to jail on August 18 and 19 and granted him bail on Thursday, as the case was bailable.
Malhotra said that the AAP should understand that getting bail is not a matter of 'Satyamev Jayate'.
Earlier, Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor on Wednesday condemned the political propaganda carried out by AAP's Delhi Convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj among school children outside a school.
He said that by enticing young schoolchildren with cake and getting them to participate in a political video, Bharadwaj has committed an unlawful act.
The Delhi BJP Spokesperson said that Bharadwaj himself has served as Education Minister and perhaps knows better that depicting schoolchildren in political videos in such a manner is prohibited under the Delhi Education Act.
Kapoor said that if Bharadwaj and the AAP believe that there has been any corruption in the distribution of bicycles under the Delhi Vidya Vahini Yojana, they can file a police complaint or approach the court.
"However, they (AAP) have no right to conduct political propaganda among school children."
The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights should take cognisance of the political propaganda carried out by Saurabh Bhardwaj among children, Kapoor said.
The Delhi BJP Spokesperson added that both Bharadwaj and the AAP are politically frustrated by the implementation of schemes by the current Rekha Gupta-led Bharatiya Janata Party government, including providing bicycles to schoolgirls, Rs 2,500 per month as Samman Rashi to women, and free LPG cylinders to women in need.
He said that, in an attempt to vent their frustration, they (AAP leaders) are now repeatedly making baseless and fabricated allegations.
