Neon has unveiled the first official trailer for Fjord, the upcoming drama from acclaimed Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu. Set and filmed entirely in Norway, the film brings together Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve in a tense story about family, faith, suspicion and the uncomfortable space between genuine concern and prejudice. Fjord is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 9, 2026.

The film follows the Gheorghiu family, led by Mihai, a devout Romanian father played by Sebastian Stan, and Lisbet, his Norwegian wife portrayed by Renate Reinsve. After relocating with their five children to Lisbet’s birthplace, the family settles in a tiny, close-knit Norwegian coastal village surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the fjords.

At first, the move offers the possibility of a fresh start. The Gheorghiu children quickly form a friendship with children from the neighbouring Halberg family, creating a connection between the two households. But beneath the picturesque surroundings, tensions begin to grow as the Gheorghius’ rigid beliefs and unusual behaviour attract attention from people in the community.
