Delhi Police celebrates 'Raksha Ka Vachan' campaign across govt schools

New Delhi, Aug 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) The New Delhi District Police organised a special community outreach programme under its 'Raksha Ka Vachan' campaign at government schools across the district on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, officials said on Friday.

The initiative, held on August 27, aimed to strengthen the bond of trust between police personnel and girl students while reaffirming the Delhi Police’s commitment to their safety, security, dignity and well-being.

Senior police officers, including DCP Sachin Sharma, Additional DCP Anand Kumar Mishra and Additional DCP Jagdev Singh, participated in the programme and interacted with students at various schools.

The officers conveyed the message that the Delhi Police remains committed to creating a safe and secure environment for women and girls and is accessible to them whenever they require assistance or support.

As part of the district-wide initiative, ACPs, SHOs and other police personnel visited government schools in their respective jurisdictions and held interactions with girl students. The students were encouraged to approach the police without hesitation if they faced any safety-related concerns or needed assistance.

During the programme, girl students tied rakhis to police officers and personnel, symbolising a bond of trust, protection, respect and mutual responsibility.

The police personnel, in turn, reaffirmed their commitment to standing by the students and ensuring their safety and security.

The interactions provided students with an opportunity to engage with police personnel in a friendly and approachable environment. Officers also sensitised the girls about personal safety and encouraged them to remain confident, vigilant and aware of the support mechanisms available through the Delhi Police.

To make the occasion memorable, sweets were distributed among the students, while gifts were presented as tokens of affection and goodwill.

The celebrations created a warm and welcoming atmosphere and helped strengthen familiarity, confidence and communication between the students and police personnel.

The 'Raksha Ka Vachan' campaign reflects the community-oriented policing approach of the New Delhi District Police, under which sustained efforts are made to establish stronger connections with citizens, particularly children, women and other vulnerable sections of society.

The initiative received an enthusiastic response from students and school authorities. Through the campaign, the Delhi Police sought to convey a message of assurance to girl students that they can approach police personnel whenever they need help or support.

The initiative was organised under the leadership of DCP Sachin Sharma, New Delhi District, as part of the district police’s efforts to promote safety, confidence and community engagement.
