Five injured as speeding car rams into four two-wheelers, tractor in Indore

Indore, Aug 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) At least five people were injured after a speeding Innova car rammed into four two-wheelers and an oncoming tractor in the Rau area of Indore in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, police said.

The accident took place around noon near Shramik Colony, when the driver of the Innova allegedly lost control of the vehicle while travelling at a high speed. According to police, the car first hit an Activa and then rammed into three motorcycles. The driver allegedly continued driving after the collisions, dragging some of the injured persons for nearly 200 feet in an apparent attempt to flee.

The Innova subsequently collided with an oncoming tractor. The impact was so strong that the tractor overturned and landed on the other side of the road. Five persons injured in the accident have been identified as Rajpal Singh, Bhagat Singh, Pawan, Mustafa and another person. They were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

ACP Nidhi Saxena reached the spot along with police personnel after receiving information about the accident. “The injured have been admitted to a hospital and are undergoing treatment. The Innova has been seized, and its driver has been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway,” Saxena said.

The driver, identified as Aman, was taken to the Rau police station for questioning. Police are examining the sequence of events and recording statements of eyewitnesses to ascertain the circumstances that led to the multiple collisions. The damaged vehicles were also taken into custody as police began further proceedings in the case.

The accident caused panic in the area and briefly affected traffic movement. Police personnel reached the spot, secured the accident site and cleared the road after shifting the injured. Further details regarding the condition of the injured and the sections of law invoked against the driver are awaited.
