Youth parliament competition: Arjun Ram Meghwal to honour winning Delhi schools tomorrow

New Delhi, Aug 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal will on Tuesday give away prizes to Delhi students and schools for their meritorious performance in the 58th Youth Parliament Competition, 2025-26.

The Prize Distribution Function for schools under the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, and the Department of Education, NDMC, will be held at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building, Parliament House Complex, said an official statement.

 

The students of “Bal Bharti Public School, Parwana Road, Pitampura, Delhi”, which stood first in the 58th Youth Parliament Competition, will stage a repeat performance of their “Youth Parliament Sitting” during the Prize Distribution Function, said the statement.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organising Youth Parliament Competitions for schools in the National Capital Territory of Delhi for the past 60 years.

Under the programme of Youth Parliament Competition for schools under the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi and the Department of Education NDMC, the 58th Competition in the series was organised during 2025-26 in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the statement said.

The Youth Parliament Scheme aims at inculcating among the young generations the spirit of self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinions, righteous expression of views, and other virtues of a democratic way of life.

Besides, the scheme also acquaints the students with the practices and procedures of Parliament, techniques of discussion and debate and develops their self-confidence, quality of leadership and the art and skill of effective oratory, it said.

The GV Mavalankar Running Parliamentary Shield and Trophy for standing first in the Competition will be awarded to “Bal Bharti Public School, Parwana Road, Pitampura, Delhi”, it said.

The Trophy for standing first amongst New Entrant Schools will also be awarded to “Bal Bharti Public School, Parwana Road, Pitampura, Delhi”. Eleven schools will be awarded merit trophies, the statement said.
