Delhi: Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh inputs for Bawana projects to PWD

New Delhi, Aug 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) During the meeting with the Public Works Department (PWD), Bawana MLA and Delhi Cabinet Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh on Monday gave suggestions regarding the local requirements of the constituency and the proposed road and connectivity projects.

He put forward important suggestions regarding the proposed elevated corridor over the auxiliary drainage channel in the Bawana area, as well as the proposed elevated corridor from Kanjhawala to Mangolpuri, said an official statement.

The proposed Kanjhawala-Mangolpuri Elevated Corridor is approximately 11.70 km long. The corridor is aimed at reducing traffic congestion on major roads in West and North-West Delhi and making transportation more convenient.

The meeting was held at the Delhi Secretariat with MLAs regarding major infrastructure projects proposed by the Public Works Department (PWD), with the objective of strengthening road infrastructure and connectivity in Delhi’s outer and rural areas.

Ravinder Indraj Singh said that a large number of villages and a significant rural population reside in the Bawana Assembly constituency. Therefore, while planning major infrastructure projects of this nature, connectivity for local villages and residents should be accorded the highest priority.

He suggested that the proposed elevated corridor should provide appropriate entry and exit arrangements for villages and local areas, along with adequate connectivity, traffic safety measures and pedestrian facilities.

He emphasised that the benefits of the project should not remain limited to traffic passing through the main corridor, but should also improve mobility for surrounding villages and local residents.

The Minister stated that a phased construction plan should be prepared to ensure that local traffic movement and daily commuting are not adversely affected during construction.

He also stressed the need for a proper assessment of the corridor’s capacity and connectivity, keeping in view the anticipated increase in traffic in the future.

Ravinder Indraj Singh said that Bawana, Kanjhawala and the surrounding rural areas have long required better road connectivity. Therefore, developing these projects in accordance with local requirements would be an important step towards the balanced and comprehensive development of the region.

The Minister directed the officials of the Public Works Department to ensure that, during the upcoming stages of DPR implementation, the suggestions put forward by local elected representatives and the ground realities of the area are duly considered while finalising the project.

He emphasised that incorporating these considerations would help ensure that the project serves the local needs of the Bawana Assembly constituency while also benefiting the people of Outer Delhi at large.
