MP aims for 50 pc green energy, exports from all districts: CM Mohan Yadav

New Delhi, Aug 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday showcased the state’s rapid transformation and investment potential at the World Leaders Forum, organised by Economic Times, in New Delhi.

Addressing the session “MP: Unlocking the Heart of India,” he highlighted the government’s focus on green energy, infrastructure, exports and ease of doing business.

Yadav said the state currently has an energy capacity of 31 gigawatts, of which 30 per cent is green. The target is to raise the green energy share to 50 per cent. Discussions have been held with private companies, which are ready to invest across sectors. Significant potential exists in power, health, mining and aviation, he said.

On air connectivity, Yadav said, from four airports during the British era, Madhya Pradesh now has five new airports under construction and MoUs signed for five more, taking the total to ten.

The Chief Minister noted that Madhya Pradesh has undergone a 360-degree transformation. Work is progressing on space technology and an AI city. Despite having no ocean border, the state’s products reach markets across the seven seas. Exports currently take place from 37 of the 55 districts, with a target to cover all districts within the next one-and-a-half years. Annual exports stand at approximately Rs 88,000 crore. A recent MoU with a major Arab investor in the fish production sector underscores growing market acceptance, with Madhya Pradesh fish even gaining popularity in Bengal.

More than 340 industrial belts are being developed. The state has 22 junctions, eight airports and a land bank exceeding one lakh acres. As a power-surplus state with skilled manpower, it offers government assistance of up to Rs 5,000 per employee to investors, he said.

On the telecom sector, the Chief Minister said that the telecom sector in Gwalior is set for rapid growth. Roadshows in Delhi and Mumbai have drawn positive responses, yielding investment proposals of over Rs 5,500 crore from each city, totalling Rs 10,000 crore. Plug-and-play facilities and attractive subsidies are further drawing investors.

Yadav emphasised that the government provides industrial land at prices much lower than cost, reflecting its strong commitment to industry and positioning Madhya Pradesh as a preferred investment destination.
