Jaipur, Aug 20 (SocialNews.XYZ) The outcomes of the BRICS Tourism Working Group's deliberations in Jaipur will form the basis for the BRICS Tourism Ministers' Meeting scheduled on Friday, as delegates continue discussions on strengthening cooperation in sustainable tourism, skilling and seamless travel.
As part of the programme, delegates will also visit Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Amber Palace on Thursday to experience Rajasthan's rich cultural and architectural heritage.
The information was unveiled during the 2nd BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group (TWG) Meeting hosted by Union Ministry of Tourism in Jaipur on Wednesday under India's BRICS Chairship.
The meeting was chaired by Bhuvnesh Kumar, Union Ministry of Tourism Secretary.
The meeting built upon the 1st BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group Meeting, held virtually on May 25 and brought together delegates from BRICS member states to advance cooperation across India's key thematic priorities: Artificial Intelligence and Tourism; Sustainability and Responsible Tourism; Tourism Skilling and Capacity Building; and Tourism Exchanges and Seamless Travel Facilitation.
Held under the overarching theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability", the 2nd TWG Meeting reflected the shared commitment of BRICS member states to deepen cooperation in tourism.
The Working Group recognised tourism as an important driver of economic growth, employment, sustainable development and people-to-people exchanges, while acknowledging the changing global tourism landscape shaped by technological advancements, evolving traveller expectations and growing sustainability imperatives.
The discussions carried forward the four thematic priorities identified under India's Chairship and outlined areas for enhanced cooperation among member states. These include the responsible use of emerging technologies, sustainable and community-centred tourism, human capital development, tourism exchanges, and improved connectivity and travel facilitation.
Addressing the meeting, Bhuvnesh Kumar said that the first Tourism Working Group Meeting and subsequent consultations had enabled considerable progress in advancing India's BRICS Tourism Track.
He highlighted that India's Chairship has focused on strengthening cooperation in areas including sustainability, skilling, seamless travel and smart tourism.
He noted that the outcomes of the Working Group's deliberations would provide an important basis for the BRICS Tourism Ministers' Meeting scheduled for August 21.
As part of the programme, BRICS delegates will undertake a technical visit on August 20 to key tourism and heritage sites in Jaipur, including Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Amber Palace.
The visit will provide delegates an opportunity to experience and explore Rajasthan's rich cultural, architectural and heritage traditions.
The meeting marks another step towards strengthening tourism cooperation among BRICS member states and promoting more sustainable, inclusive and technology-driven tourism.
