Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) The BJP's Yuva Morcha on Tuesday stepped up its campaign against the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC), demanding the dissolution of its present governing body and a comprehensive probe into appointments made by the commission over the past decade.
Yuva Morcha state President V. Manuprasad said the organisation would intensify its agitation as long as the existing PSC governing body, including members facing allegations of corruption and of cheating job aspirants, continued in office.
"The present PSC governing body should be dissolved. We will continue with a strong agitation until action is taken," he said.
Manuprasad said that his organisation had already submitted a complaint on the PSC issue to the Kerala Governor, and was assured that the matter would be considered seriously.
The Governor’s intervention had given the organisation hope that action would follow, he said.
The BJP youth organisation has raised a series of demands relating to the functioning of the PSC and the recruitment process.
It has demanded that the government identify and report all existing vacancies in government departments and publish a comprehensive white paper detailing the vacancies.
It has also sought immediate appointments against all reported vacancies from the existing PSC rank lists, arguing that candidates who have already cleared the recruitment process should not be made to wait while vacancies remain unfilled.
Another major demand is a CBI investigation into PSC appointments made during the past 10 years.
Yuva Morcha has also called for transparent statutory rules governing the appointment of PSC members to prevent allegations of political interference and ensure greater credibility in the recruitment system.
Manuprasad accused both the Left and Right fronts of failing Kerala’s youth, saying his organisation’s campaign was aimed at exposing "the betrayal" of job aspirants by successive governments.
As part of the agitation, Yuva Morcha will organise a day-and-night protest outside the PSC headquarters on August 19 and 20.
The protest is expected to focus on reported vacancies, delays in appointments, and alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
Manuprasad said the organisation would continue to press for reforms until the government and PSC addressed the concerns of thousands of candidates waiting for appointments.
The Yuva Morcha leadership also indicated that the agitation would be expanded in the coming days if its demands were not addressed, making the PSC recruitment issue another potential flashpoint between the government and the BJP youth wing.
