CII Green Steel and Mining Summit 2026 concludes; Chh'garh reaffirms commitment to green industrial growth

Raipur, Aug 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Chhattisgarh has reaffirmed its strong commitment to building a competitive, investment-friendly and sustainable industrial ecosystem, government officials said on Friday.

The state perspective and special address by the Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai took centre stage on Day 2 of the fifth Green Steel and Mining Summit 2026, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Naya Raipur.

In his address, Chief Minister Sai expressed confidence that the summit would significantly benefit industrial development and serve as a milestone in advancing the steel and mining sectors.

He highlighted Chhattisgarh's unique advantages, saying that the state possesses all the essential resources to emerge as India's leading Green steel hub.

These include abundant minerals, a robust industrial base, reliable power supply, skilled manpower and a progressive policy environment.

Emphasising the state's readiness to lead India's transformation into a global steel powerhouse while pursuing net-zero ambitions, the Chief Minister announced an ambitious target to increase the state's steel production capacity from 28 million tonnes to 45 million tonnes.

To support this growth, the state government has implemented a new industrial policy and the Jan Vishwas Adhiniyam.

Infrastructure development remains a key priority, with the state administration actively promoting industrial corridors and providing grants for private-sector industrial parks, such as the Nianar Industrial Area, to strengthen ancillary industries.

Inviting investors and industry leaders from India and across the world, Chief Minister Sai said, "Come to Chhattisgarh, invest here and become partners in building a greener, stronger and more self-reliant India. Together, we can make Chhattisgarh's steel a defining force in the infrastructure and industrial growth of Viksit Bharat."

The summit provided a platform for the state to showcase its policy reforms and investment opportunities in the steel and mining sectors.

By focusing on sustainable industrialisation, Chhattisgarh aims to balance rapid industrial growth with environmental responsibility, positioning itself as a preferred destination for green investments.

The two-day event underscored the state's determination to drive green industrial growth and contribute meaningfully to India's broader vision of sustainable development and economic self-reliance.
