Kiara Advani Says “There’ll Be a Kiara Before Toxic and a Kiara After Toxic”: Actress Calls Nadia a Career-Defining Role

Kiara Advani is convinced that Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups will mark a major turning point in her acting journey. At the film's trailer launch in Bengaluru, the actress opened up about what drew her to Nadia, her character in the highly anticipated gangster drama, and credited director Geetu Mohandas and co-star Yash for seeing something in her that she herself was yet to fully recognise. Speaking about the role, Kiara said, “I truly believe that Geetu and Yash manifested for me to be Nadia in this film. They saw it in me and believed I was capable of this much before I knew that fearless leap that I was ready to take as an actor.”

For Kiara, accepting Nadia was not simply about taking on another big film or joining an impressive ensemble. It was about stepping into unfamiliar territory as a performer and trusting the people who believed she could do it. Looking back at the finished film, the actress expressed immense gratitude towards Geetu and Yash. “Today when I watch every little bit of our film, I just want to say thank you. Thank you Geetu and thank you Yash for giving me a part that I know will be very special for me as an actor in my journey,” she said. The emotion behind those words was clear—Nadia appears to have pushed Kiara into a space she had been waiting to explore.

The actress also revealed how the entire Toxic experience has raised the bar for her and her co-stars. Praising the film's team, Kiara said, “Y'all have spoiled me and every actor in this film. I'm sure you all will agree with me that what we've tasted is now going to make us want so much more.” She added that the experience would make them “so much more greedier with every film we step into.” Her comments underline the scale of the creative experience behind the project and the impact Geetu's filmmaking approach appears to have had on the cast.

Kiara also took a moment to celebrate the ensemble, saying it was a joy to both work with her co-stars and watch their performances come together on screen. The film stars Yash in a dual role alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, the ambitious gangster drama is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26, 2026.
