CEC Gyanesh Kumar, Mongolian envoy discuss poll management, staff training

New Delhi, Aug 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Chairman of the Council of Member States of International IDEA, Gyanesh Kumar, on Friday met Ambassador of Mongolia Ulziit Luvsanjav and discussed issues of democratic cooperation and the training of election staff.

A statement issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on social media platform X said, "Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening democratic cooperation, in line with the vision set out at IICDEM 2026. They also agreed to work closely together to deepen collaboration on election management and the training of election staff."

 

CEC Gyanesh Kumar met Ambassador Ulziit Luvsanjav on Friday morning at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi, an official statement said.

The meeting was a part of CEC Gyanesh Kumar's global engagement for sharing best practices of Indian democracy.

In another engagement this month, CEC Gyanesh Kumar met Ambassador of Kazakhstan Azamat Yeskarayev and discussed issues of election management.

After the meeting, a statement issued by the ECI on X said, "Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening democratic cooperation, in keeping with the vision articulated at IICDEM 2026. They further agreed to work closely together to deepen collaboration in election management and in the training of election staff."

Earlier, CEC Gyanesh Kumar met Ambassador of Georgia Vakhtang Jaoshvili and discussed issues of cooperation and the training of election staff.

A statement issued by the ECI on X said, "Chief Election Commissioner and Chairman of the Council of Member States of International IDEA, Gyanesh Kumar, today met Vakhtang Jaoshvili, Ambassador of Georgia to India, at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi."

CEC Gyanesh Kumar also met Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambaev and the Sri Lankan Envoy Mahishini Colonne.

After the meeting with the Uzbek envoy, the ECI, in a message on social media, said, "Building on the momentum generated at IICDEM 2026, both sides resolved to work closely together to advance the agenda set out at the conference, reinforcing India's role as a trusted partner in the region's democratic development. The two sides further agreed to strengthen collaboration in election management and the training of election staff."
