Kolkata, Aug 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday said the Centre has assured him of all possible assistance to revive the tea and textile sector in the state.

He said the assurance came from Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during his recent interactions in New Delhi.

“The Union Finance Minister has assured me of all necessary Central assistance for the revival of the tea and the textile sector in West Bengal. This is an important issue. The Union Finance Minister is also coming to West Bengal by the end of this month,” the Chief Minister said, while addressing a seminar on the textile industry in Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasised the development of textile hubs in the state and assured that, if necessary, changes in legal provisions will be made. “The current state government will do whatever is necessary for investments in the sector,” CM Adhikari said.

The Chief Minister reiterated his government's commitment to creating an ideal investment ambience in the state by removing practices such as corruption and extortion.

“In the last three months, the new state government has worked according to the promises made before the Assembly election earlier this year. A perfect environment for industry is being created in West Bengal. Hooliganism will not be tolerated at any cost. An investor-friendly environment will be created. West Bengal will now move forward,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was personally very keen on the overall development of West Bengal.

“The Prime Minister is trying hard to revive West Bengal. He celebrated Yoga Day here. The Prime Minister has told all the Central ministers to visit West Bengal regularly and help in reviving the state,” the Chief Minister said.

He said that after receiving continuous setbacks during the last 50 years, West Bengal will now progress towards growth. “The double-engine government has started performing now. West Bengal has started getting back its industry-friendly ambience,” the Chief Minister said.
