Aamir Khan, Raza Murad, Raj Arjun and Ruhanika Dhawan Pay Final Respects to Veteran Actor Pradeep Rawat in Mumbai

The Indian film fraternity came together on Wednesday, August 5, to bid an emotional farewell to veteran actor Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat, who passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the age of 74 after a prolonged battle with blood cancer. Family members, close friends, and several actors gathered in Mumbai to pay their last respects to the celebrated performer, whose powerful portrayals of villains and character roles left a lasting impact across Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema.

Among those present at the funeral were Aamir Khan, Raza Murad, Raj Arjun, and actress Ruhanika Dhawan, all of whom arrived to offer their condolences and stand in solidarity with Rawat's grieving family. The solemn gathering reflected the deep respect the veteran actor commanded within the industry after a career spanning several decades and memorable performances in numerous blockbuster films.

The antim darshan (final viewing) was held between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM at Pradeep Rawat's residence in Goregaon, Mumbai, where friends, colleagues, and admirers gathered to pay their final respects. His cremation was later conducted at the crematorium near Oshiwara Bridge on SV Road in Jogeshwari West. In an emotional moment, his son Vikramaditya Rawat performed the final rites, as family members and members of the film fraternity stood by to bid him a heartfelt goodbye.

According to his manager Siddharth Tiwari, Pradeep Rawat had been battling blood cancer for the past five years. Although he had successfully recovered from the illness nearly four years ago, he suffered a severe relapse around six weeks before his passing. The actor was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after his condition worsened, with a sudden drop in his platelet count leading to a rapid decline in his health.

Pradeep Rawat carved a unique place in Indian cinema through his commanding screen presence and memorable portrayals of antagonists. He became widely recognized for playing the menacing Ghajini Dharmatma in Ghajini, while also delivering acclaimed performances in films such as Lagaan, Sarfarosh, Sye, Naayak, and several other Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil productions. His final screen appearance came in Chhaava, where he portrayed Yesaji Kank, once again showcasing the intensity that defined his acting career.
