Symphony Q1 net profit slips 5 pc to Rs 40 crore

Mumbai, Aug 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) Air cooler maker Symphony Limited on Tuesday reported a 5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decline in net profit for the quarter ended June 2026 (Q1 FY27).

The company's profit after tax stood at Rs 40 crore, compared with Rs 42 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year (Q1 FY26).

Despite the drop in profit, Symphony registered strong growth in its top line. Revenue from operations rose 8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 378 crore during the quarter, up from Rs 350 crore in the year-ago period.

The Ahmedabad-headquartered company also witnessed a sharp improvement in operating performance.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 28 per cent to Rs 46 crore in the June quarter from Rs 36 crore a year earlier, as per its regulatory filing.

Reflecting the stronger operating efficiency, EBITDA margin expanded to 12.2 per cent from 10.3 per cent in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Founded in 1988 by Achal Bakeri, Symphony is a leading player in the evaporative cooling segment and operates in more than 60 countries.

The company offers residential, commercial and industrial cooling solutions and follows a light-asset business model, focusing on research and development, product design and brand building while outsourcing a significant portion of manufacturing.

Symphony's products are positioned as energy-efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional air-conditioning systems. The company is listed on both the BSE and NSE under the ticker symbol SYMPHONY.

Following the result announcement, the shares of the cooler maker were trading at Rs 675.85, down 1.01 per cent or Rs 6.90 during noon trade.

In last five days, the shares dropped 2.40 per cent or Rs 16.60. On higher timeframe, it was down by 4.30 per cent or Rs 30.35, according to official data.
