Bhopal, Aug 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Madhya Pradesh Council of Ministers, in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday, approved the Cooperative Department’s “Kavach Yojana” aimed at helping around 5,000 farmers linked to cooperative societies whose loan accounts have discrepancies.
Due to delays in investigations, these farmers had been unable to avail benefits of government schemes. According to a government statement released after the Cabinet meeting, the new scheme will bring them into the mainstream and enable them to secure fresh loans.
Under the scheme, Apex Banks and District Cooperative Banks will create a fund of up to Rs 50 crore at their own level. The state government will also provide a one-time share capital assistance of Rs 25 crore in the interest of the farmers.
During the meeting, the Cabinet cleared schemes and proposals worth a total of Rs 32,070 crore to accelerate the state’s holistic development and public welfare. The decisions primarily focus on cooperative sector farmers, strengthening health services, expanding sports infrastructure, empowering digital governance, and benefiting the teaching cadre.
In the health sector, the Cabinet approved Rs 12,517.99 crore for the smooth operation of district and civil hospitals and dispensaries, Rs 11,812.02 crore for primary healthcare, Rs 2,449 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), and Rs 1,705 crore for the control of malaria and other vector-borne diseases for the period from April 2026 to March 2031.
A scheme worth Rs 2,460.57 crore was approved for the construction and upgradation of sports infrastructure and stadiums to provide international-standard facilities to the state’s youth.
An amount of Rs 1,099.58 crore was sanctioned for the upgradation, operation and maintenance of the State Data Centre to strengthen e-governance.
In another decision, the Cabinet approved the grant of the fourth upgraded pay scale to Assistant, Upper-grade, Primary and Secondary teachers under the Tribal Affairs Department upon completion of 35 years of service, effective from July 1, 2023.
