Ujjain, July 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday said the state government is simultaneously expanding infrastructure, industrial facilities and tourism projects in Ujjain as part of its preparations for Simhastha-2028, while directing officials to complete all ongoing works within the stipulated timeline.
During his visit to Ujjain, the Chief Minister reviewed a series of development projects aimed at strengthening the city’s civic infrastructure and boosting its industrial and tourism potential ahead of the mega religious congregation, which is held once every 12 years.
“The development works are progressing at a rapid pace to ensure a grand, divine and well-organised Simhastha-2028 in the holy city of Baba Mahakal,” Yadav said in a statement.
He inspected ongoing works at Vikram Udyogpuri, where a Working Women’s Hostel is being constructed to provide safe and convenient accommodation for women employed in the industrial area. Officials briefed him on the project's progress and the facilities being created.
The Chief Minister later inspected the restoration work of the Veer Bharat Museum and reviewed plans for a modern Serpent Park, which the state government intends to develop as a major wildlife tourism attraction.
“A modern Serpent Park will be developed in Ujjain as a major attraction for wildlife tourism. All construction works must be completed within the stipulated timeline,” the Chief Minister said while directing officials to ensure there is no delay in execution.
He asked all concerned departments to closely monitor the progress of the ongoing projects so that the upgraded infrastructure is ready well before Simhastha-2028.
Simhastha, held on the banks of the Kshipra river in Ujjain, is among the country’s largest religious gatherings and attracts millions of devotees from India and abroad.
The Madhya Pradesh government has undertaken an extensive programme to upgrade roads, public amenities, tourism infrastructure and urban services to enhance the city’s capacity ahead of the 2028 congregation.
