New Delhi, July 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) Reacting to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s remarks in the Lok Sabha, RJD MP Sudhakar Singh on Wednesday said that Dubey does not speak on serious issues in Parliament, but keeps on abusing and maligning great leaders.
The remarks came amid a political controversy triggered during a debate in the Lok Sabha, where BJP MP Nishikant Dubey referred to India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, leading to an uproar in the House.
The Lok Sabha witnessed heated exchanges on Tuesday after Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made remarks about newly appointed Education Minister Pralhad Joshi during a discussion on the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. The comments were later expunged from the House records, prompting protests from Treasury Bench members and demands for an apology from the Congress leader.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made the remarks while participating in the debate on the bill. Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Kiren Rijiju accused her of making personal attacks and indulging in “character assassination”.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi defended Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s choice of Education Minister.
Speaking to IANS, RJD MP Sudhakar Singh launched a sharp attack on Nishikant Dubey.
“He is not Nishikant Dubey; he is ‘Neechkant’ Dubey. His only job is to weaken Indian democracy. He does not speak on serious issues in Parliament. Instead, he abuses and maligns the great leaders who fought for India’s freedom. He does nothing beyond that. He is a person associated with criminals. In the coming days, we will present many facts and pieces of evidence against him,” Singh said.
Commenting on the political situation in Bihar, Sudhakar Singh claimed that the BJP’s position had weakened and predicted that the party would perform poorly in the Bankipore election.
Sudhakar Singh said, "The Bharatiya Janata Party's condition has worsened. Owing to the student movement and the police firing on students in Bihar, as well as the encounter of Bharat Tiwari, the government's image has been severely damaged. On the other hand, you will see that in the Bankipore election, the BJP will fall behind. The Rashtriya Janata Dal has always remained the strongest opposition party, and our support base has become stronger. Rekha Gupta will win the election there."
