When asked about making a dramatic shift from intense performances to a full-fledged comedy, Raghav explained that the script immediately stood out because it offered something unique. He said, “When the script came to me—and I read it thoroughly—I realized that this particular character occupies a space that is currently vacant. No one among the fresh, young faces is doing the kind of work associated with Govinda or the Hera Pheri era; there is a genuine gap there. When I saw the script, I felt it was incredibly fresh and new—fresh faces, a novel script. It didn't rely on those tired, formulaic tropes often seen in comedy.”
Elaborating on what made the role so appealing, Raghav revealed that the film's humour comes from a protagonist whose confidence far exceeds his talent. “I saw something new here. What really appealed to me about the character was that he thinks he’s a legendary actor, but he’s actually terrible at it. He keeps getting into trouble because of his awful acting; the poor guy tries to save himself but just keeps digging a deeper hole. That dynamic really struck me.”
The actor also believes audiences are yearning for light-hearted entertainers that simply make them laugh. Drawing inspiration from Govinda's iconic comic performances, Raghav added, “I also felt the film has a certain vibe—while it’s fresh, it also evokes a sense of nostalgia for the kind of performances Govinda used to deliver. People want that right now; everyone’s life is so stressful, and they just want to go, spend two hours laughing, and shake off that tension. That’s why I felt we should move the release date up. Originally, it was scheduled for later—my intense films like The Paradise were lined up first—but we decided to bring this one forward because it turned out so well.”
Directed by Vivek B. Agrawal, Bhai Tera Star Hai follows Ajay Singh (Raghav Juyal), a London-based dreamer who firmly believes he is destined to become Bollywood's next superstar. However, his overconfidence and terrible acting abilities land him in one hilarious and bizarre situation after another, turning a single night into a rollercoaster of comic chaos, misunderstandings, and laugh-out-loud moments.
The comedy-drama also features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Kapoor, Niharika NM, Barkha Singh, Vivan Bhatena, and Chandan Roy Sanyal in pivotal roles. Produced by Eastwood Pictures and Indian Stories 2, the film promises a blend of fresh humour, quirky characters, and nostalgic comic energy inspired by some of Bollywood's most beloved entertainers.
With Raghav Juyal expressing his desire to revisit the style of comedy popularised by Govinda and films like Hera Pheri, Bhai Tera Star Hai is positioning itself as a family entertainer that prioritises fun over formula. The film is all set to hit cinemas on July 30, 2026, and audiences will soon find out whether Raghav's comic gamble pays off at the box office.
