Education reformer and innovator Sonam Wangchuk has officially ended his 26-day hunger strike, bringing a significant chapter in the nationwide protests over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy to a close. Sharing a video from his hospital bed on social media, Wangchuk informed supporters that he was ending the fast after receiving key assurances from the government and Members of Parliament across political parties.

In his emotional post, Wangchuk wrote, "END OF HUNGER... BEGINNING OF ACCOUNTABILITY...!" He revealed that the government had assured him that the issue of accountability in the country's failing examination system would be discussed in the Indian Parliament. According to Wangchuk, the government also promised adequate compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET examination paper leak crisis.
