The film, which released in theatres on July 24, is a hard-hitting social thriller inspired by real-world concerns surrounding food contamination, excessive pesticide use, and public health. Presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Productions & Studios, the courtroom drama stars Shreyas Talpade as Yogesh Patil, a grieving father who refuses to accept his seven-year-old daughter's cancer death as fate. Instead, he launches a legal battle alleging that toxic chemicals in everyday food are responsible, setting the stage for a gripping fight against powerful agrochemical interests.

Speaking exclusively during the media interaction, Shreyas reflected on his transition from comedy to a more layered and emotionally demanding role. The actor admitted that challenging himself has always been an important part of his journey and that The India Story offered him exactly the kind of opportunity he had been looking for.

"As an actor, one always wants to take on different roles—characters that add variety to one's filmography. I think this was another great opportunity for me to challenge myself, explore new facets of my acting, and surprise the audience. People often recognize me from films like Golmaal, Welcome, or Housefull, but I actually started my career with a film like Iqbal, which was deeply intense and emotional. This film belongs to a similar genre. I am very happy that Chetan-ji and Sagar-ji chose me for this project. Now, we are waiting to see how the audience receives it."

"No, it shouldn't be just the farmers or the government; we all need to pay attention. We are all equally responsible for everything happening in our country. Simply shifting the blame onto one party won't solve the problem. I believe it is our collective responsibility to be aware of where our food comes from and how it is produced. If we make them aware of the consequences, farmers would certainly be willing to change. After all, they too desire a healthy, good lifestyle and want the food to be absolutely pure. So, I think it is our shared responsibility."
