Noida, July 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a decisive action against vehicle theft, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police on Friday busted an interstate two‑wheeler theft gang and arrested three notorious criminals.
Nine stolen motorcycles, one scooter and an illegal .315 bore pistol were recovered from the accused’s possession.
The three accused were identified as Vikas, Rohit and Kuldeep, and were found to be operating in Sector‑126 of Noida. The police recovered the stolen motorcycles and scooter from the dense thickets of the Yamuna floodplain area in Sector‑131.
The police acted on manual intelligence and confidential information to nab all three gang members.
The investigation revealed that the accused were members of an organised interstate vehicle theft gang and had been stealing two‑wheelers across Delhi‑NCR for a long time. They would first conduct reconnaissance of vehicles parked outside malls, hospitals, metro stations, markets and residential areas, and then steal them at an opportune moment.
To evade police detection, they would hide the vehicles for some time, then erase the engine and chassis numbers to prevent identification. They would then sell the vehicles at low prices for financial gain.
The gang’s ringleader, Vikas Kumar, carried an illegal pistol and ammunition. During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing numerous two‑wheelers from Delhi and Noida. Vikas Kumar is originally from Bulandshahr, while his associates Rohit and Kuldeep are also residents of Bulandshahr and currently residing in Noida.
Police investigation revealed that all three accused have a criminal history. Vikas has two prior cases registered against him under the Arms Act. Rohit faces multiple charges, including robbery, theft and possession of stolen property, while Kuldeep has cases registered against him for theft and burglary.
The recovered vehicles include several Hero Splendour motorcycles, a TVS Jupiter scooter and a Bajaj CT‑100, all stolen from Noida and Delhi.
The police are now actively searching for other members of the gang, individuals involved in buying and selling the stolen vehicles, and other criminals linked to this network.
