Jaipur, July 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday said the state government’s zero‑tolerance policy against examination malpractices has ensured that no paper leak incidents have occurred in the last two‑and‑a‑half years, helping restore the confidence of lakhs of job aspirants.
He also said the government has provided 1.78 lakh government jobs and facilitated employment for nearly 4.5 lakh youths in the private sector, asserting that employment generation and transparent recruitment remain among the government’s top priorities.
Addressing the Rajasthan Water Conclave in Jaipur, Sharma said the government has focused on ensuring fair recruitment, strengthening governance and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
“The government’s zero‑tolerance approach has ensured that not a single paper leak incident has taken place in the last two‑and‑a‑half years. This has restored the trust of young people preparing for competitive examinations,” the Chief Minister said. Highlighting the employment record, he said 1.78 lakh youths have been given government jobs, while nearly 4.5 lakh people have secured employment in the private sector through various initiatives.
He said the state government is committed to transparent recruitment and timely filling of vacancies so that deserving candidates receive equal opportunities. Speaking at the conclave, he also outlined initiatives in water conservation, irrigation, drinking water infrastructure and public participation aimed at making Rajasthan self‑reliant in water resources.
Sharma said Rajasthan is moving steadily towards water self‑reliance through major infrastructure projects, public participation and scientific water management, asserting that the state is set to emerge as a national model for water conservation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the government prioritised water security immediately after assuming office and that the results of these initiatives are now visible.
The foundation of a “New Rajasthan” in the water sector is being laid through landmark initiatives such as the Ramjal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement. Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, Rajasthan is poised to become a national model for water management and harvesting, he said.
The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Modi has elevated water conservation into a national mission through programmes such as Catch the Rain, Namami Gange, Jal Sanchay‑Jan Bhagidari, Jal Jeevan Mission, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Amrit Sarovar, Har Khet Ko Pani and Per Drop More Crop.
He stressed that future generations would judge the present generation by its commitment to conserving water resources. During the conclave, Sharma interacted with experts, institutions and civil society organisations, seeking suggestions on improving water management through technology, scientific planning and community participation.
Highlighting key initiatives, Sharma said the Ramjal Setu Link Project would ensure drinking water security across 17 districts while providing irrigation facilities to nearly 4.84 lakh hectares of agricultural land.
He also said that under the Yamuna Water Agreement, 1,917 cusecs of Yamuna water would be brought to the Shekhawati region through a 295‑km pipeline, benefiting around 75 lakh people in Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Churu districts.
He said work is progressing rapidly on the Dewas III and Dewas IV projects, costing Rs 1,691 crore, to meet Udaipur’s drinking water needs. Other major initiatives include strengthening the canal network of the Indira Gandhi Nahar Pariyojana (IGNP), plans to bring Narmada water to Raniwara and Bhinmal, and linking the Brahmani River to Bisalpur.
He added that the Parwan Multipurpose Irrigation Project, on which the state has already spent Rs 1,164 crore, would become a lifeline for Kota, Baran and Jhalawar districts. Sharma emphasised that public participation remains central to the state’s water conservation strategy.
The Chief Minister said projects worth Rs 5,100 crore have been approved under AMRUT 2.0 to strengthen drinking water infrastructure in 178 urban local bodies, with work orders already issued for 109.
He further said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, tap water connections have been provided to over 15 lakh rural households, while works worth Rs 485 crore have been completed under the Atal Bhujal Yojana. To accelerate irrigation projects, the government has constituted a Chief Minister’s Irrigation Task Force, while farmers are being provided information on water availability through the Kisan Saathi mobile application.
Sharma said farmers in 26 districts are currently receiving daytime electricity supply and that the facility would be extended across Rajasthan by 2027. He added that the state is now also supplying electricity to other states while ensuring uninterrupted power for domestic consumers and industries.
